SPONSOR THIS WEEK:

Sheepski Designs

The prize is 3 Digital Images from online store..

This week’s card is made with Alana from SheepSki Designs.

This image made me think of fashion, so I thought what if I create a shop window which will depict mannequins with dresses in different colours.

The image was printed 5 times and coloured in 5 different colours using my Zig pens – Yellow, Bright Yellow, Pink, Purple and Blue. I decided not to colour in the bodies or the hair so the dresses would have an extra wow factor. I decorated with a little “diamond” at the top of the dress.

The images were added to an A5 black card, which had a white mat on top, a black strip of card and 5  die-cut strips.  The final touch was die cut letters to spell out Congrats. I think this card could be great for a school leaver or for a birthday.

RECIPE:

  • Digi Image from SheepSki Designs  –  Alana.
  • Zig real brush pens
  • Digi stamp printed onto 160 gms white card, cut out and coloured.
  • Black and white card for layering.
  • First Edition alphabet Dies
  • Diamond gems embellishment
  • all mounted on top of an A5 black card.

…and the prize is 2 images from the on-line store.

This week’s digi stamp is the

Poppi Pokkadott

from Sherry West Art. This reminded me of the hairstyles and dresses from the 1950’s so I decided to make a 50th birthday card with this image.

I printed the image once on white card and then once on patterned card. I then cut out the dress and layered it onto the blank digi stamp – a technique called paper piecing.

To make the background I took a 6 x 6 inch white card, and created a mat with a red, a patterned and a white layer. Then I added a stunning die-cut round delicated fram and used some foam pads to raise the image a little from the card.

The card was finished up with some 3D bows and a few flatback pearls were added as a finishing touch.

DRS Designs

This weeks prize is a $20 voucher for the online store.

This week’s card is made with Brick Wall from DRS Designs.

A brick wall is a fabulous blank canvas for almost any theme which is why I opted for the Brick Wall. I could have gone all pinks and floral on a nice grey background with lots of green. But I didn’t! Instead I decided to go with a cool boys cards.

I started by copying and pasting the Brick Wall image several times in a Word Document until I had an A4 page full of bricks. I then proceeded to cut out a piece of wall to fit my 6 x 6 card. I coloured the wall using Jim Holtz Distress Ink – Pumice Stone making sure I did it rough and uneven and leaving a few places almost white. I also cut out a few individual bricks and coloured these in Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

The boy image and sentiments are from Polkadoodles. They were coloured using ZIG real brush pens.

I chose a white 6 x 6 inch card which got a black mat which I stuck my Brick Wall to. I added the boy charactar and the sentiments before placing the small individual tiles around the card mounted on foam pads to add dimension. Fairly quick card with enough grunge to keep any young boy happy!

RECIPE:

  • Digi Image from DRS DesignsBrick Wall.
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Pumice Stone and Gathered Twigs
  • Digi boy image and sentiments from Polkadoodles – Cool Dude.
  • Zig real brush pens
  • Digi stamps printed onto 160 gms white card, cut out and coloured.
  • Black card for layering.
  • all mounted on top of a 6 x 6 square white card.

This week’s card is made with Narwhal from Wink Wink Ink.

This is an unusual image for me, so I thad to think for a little while. It had to be something with the ocean – and there had to be some sort of fluidity or movement.

Recently I bought a set of Tattered Lace dies which continued some images from fishing and the sea, so they were screaming out to be incorporated.

The image came plain and coloured – and I choose the easy option of using the coloured version. So I printed and cut out a couple of whales. I die cut some of the Tattered Lace images too. Then I took a 6 x 6 white card and cut out a strip of card along the middle of the card and replace with acetate.  I started playing around with all my cut-outs until I had a good layout. Then I printed an ocean image and used as and insert in the cards, so it showed through the acetate.

RECIPE:

  • Digi Image from Wink Wink InkNarwhal
  • Tattered Lace die cuts
  • Digi image printed onto 160 gms white card.
  • 6 x 6 square white card
