SPONSOR THIS WEEK:

The Paper Shelter

The prize this week is 3 digital images from their online store.

This week’s cards are made with The Queen Bee image from The Paper Shelter.

I am a big fan of The Paper Shelter and their designs. Whether you just print cut and layer the coloured images or decide to print the images and colour yourself the cards always work out beautifully when you start with a great design.

For my cards I used the coloured version of the images. The 2nd card is printed and then I cut out decoupage layers and assembled card providing some depth with foam pads.

For the first card I printed and cut out decoupaged layers of The Queen Bee. On the final layer I travel a circle around the image and cut out except for areas where the print was outside the circle. I then cut a slightly bigger circle in Black and glued by decoupaged Queen Bee onto the black card. On the white base card I added a layer of black card and glued yellow die cut hexagons to it before adding my circle topper. The card was finished with a die cut sentiment and some tiny bees cut from the printed sheets. A wauw card which stands out because of the bold colour scheme.

RECIPE:

  • Digi Image from The Paper Shelter
  • Clipart and background paper all printed onto 160 gms white card
  • Black card for layering and yellow card for die cutting
  • Die cut sentiment
  • All mounted on a 6 x 6 white card.

This week’s card is made with Flower – Hi from Bugaboo Stamps.

Bugaboo Stamps make such fun and quirky stamps – I love the fun and life in them – and the sentiments always make me laugh!

So this card is a real summer stunner. Ladybirds had to feature high on this card – I love them but sadly we don’t see as many nowadays as we used to when I was a littel girl. For those of you who follow this page it probably comes as no surprise that I had to do some decoupage with this one too.

I printed the image several times. Made an extra frame with the ladybird. Cut out several layers to decoupage up after they had been coloured using my Copic Ciao’s. When done I layered it all up on a 6 x 6 quite card.

RECIPE:

  • Digi Image: Flower – Hi from Bugaboo Stamps
  • 160 gms white card for printing
  • All mounted on a 6 x 6 white card.
  • Copic Ciao pens – Y15, YR07, R17 and YG67

The prize this week is 3 stencils by Funky Fossil Designs

This week’s card is made with Tropical Freebie from Phantasia Designs.

Phantasia Designs make a lot of lovely graphics. Clipart, digital papers, planners etc. They always have a good freebie too and this is one of them.

As the summer has really hit us now, I was in the mood to go all out with a gorgeous summer scene. I like cutting out by hand sometimes – I find it relaxing – so I printed out some of the images and cut them out by hand. Then I did some matting and layering using the clipart images and digital background paper. I matted onto a piece of orange card and added a sentiment – a quick card done!

RECIPE:

  • Digi Image from Phantasia Designs
  • Clipart and background paper all printed onto 160 gms white card
  • Orange card for layering.
  • Peel-off sentiment
  • All mounted on a 6 x 6 white card.

The prize is 3 Digital Images from online store..

This week’s card is made with Alana from SheepSki Designs.

This image made me think of fashion, so I thought what if I create a shop window which will depict mannequins with dresses in different colours.

The image was printed 5 times and coloured in 5 different colours using my Zig pens – Yellow, Bright Yellow, Pink, Purple and Blue. I decided not to colour in the bodies or the hair so the dresses would have an extra wow factor. I decorated with a little “diamond” at the top of the dress.

The images were added to an A5 black card, which had a white mat on top, a black strip of card and 5  die-cut strips.  The final touch was die cut letters to spell out Congrats. I think this card could be great for a school leaver or for a birthday.

RECIPE:

  • Digi Image from SheepSki Designs  –  Alana.
  • Zig real brush pens
  • Digi stamp printed onto 160 gms white card, cut out and coloured.
  • Black and white card for layering.
  • First Edition alphabet Dies
  • Diamond gems embellishment
  • all mounted on top of an A5 black card.

DRS Designs

This weeks prize is a $20 voucher for the online store.

This week’s card is made with Brick Wall from DRS Designs.

A brick wall is a fabulous blank canvas for almost any theme which is why I opted for the Brick Wall. I could have gone all pinks and floral on a nice grey background with lots of green. But I didn’t! Instead I decided to go with a cool boys cards.

I started by copying and pasting the Brick Wall image several times in a Word Document until I had an A4 page full of bricks. I then proceeded to cut out a piece of wall to fit my 6 x 6 card. I coloured the wall using Jim Holtz Distress Ink – Pumice Stone making sure I did it rough and uneven and leaving a few places almost white. I also cut out a few individual bricks and coloured these in Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

The boy image and sentiments are from Polkadoodles. They were coloured using ZIG real brush pens.

I chose a white 6 x 6 inch card which got a black mat which I stuck my Brick Wall to. I added the boy charactar and the sentiments before placing the small individual tiles around the card mounted on foam pads to add dimension. Fairly quick card with enough grunge to keep any young boy happy!

RECIPE:

  • Digi Image from DRS DesignsBrick Wall.
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Pumice Stone and Gathered Twigs
  • Digi boy image and sentiments from Polkadoodles – Cool Dude.
  • Zig real brush pens
  • Digi stamps printed onto 160 gms white card, cut out and coloured.
  • Black card for layering.
  • all mounted on top of a 6 x 6 square white card.

This week’s card is made with Narwhal from Wink Wink Ink.

This is an unusual image for me, so I thad to think for a little while. It had to be something with the ocean – and there had to be some sort of fluidity or movement.

Recently I bought a set of Tattered Lace dies which continued some images from fishing and the sea, so they were screaming out to be incorporated.

The image came plain and coloured – and I choose the easy option of using the coloured version. So I printed and cut out a couple of whales. I die cut some of the Tattered Lace images too. Then I took a 6 x 6 white card and cut out a strip of card along the middle of the card and replace with acetate.  I started playing around with all my cut-outs until I had a good layout. Then I printed an ocean image and used as and insert in the cards, so it showed through the acetate.

RECIPE:

  • Digi Image from Wink Wink InkNarwhal
  • Tattered Lace die cuts
  • Digi image printed onto 160 gms white card.
  • 6 x 6 square white card
